Greenwood Community Park

This is a pickleball gem in Baton Rouge, LA, with 16 lighted courts that are very nice.

We also found the locals to be authentic picklers who offered up plenty of welcomes.

We attempted to get into these courts three times before we were successful because they are completely enclosed and have specific operating hours. Once we were in, we really enjoyed playing on these courts.

When we were there, the cost to play was $2. Talk about affordable! It looks like the cost is increasing to $5 effective April 1, 2024. This is still affordable and it’s not tied to how long you’re there, which we like.

There are restrooms and a little clubhouse on the premises, so it’s everything you need for a positive pickleball experience.

For ease, here are the hours of operation:

Monday + Wednesday / 8 a.m.-noon + 5-9 p.m.
Tuesday + Thursday / 5-9 p.m.
Friday + Saturday / 8 a.m.-noon
Sunday / 1-7 p.m.

As a bonus if you have a dog, there is a nearby dog park where you can let your furry family member run wild. Unfortunately, your pups can’t join you on court, but there is plenty of shade outside the courts with trees and grass. #ADogsLife
